If you are a Commodity Manager professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting position for you in Boulder, Colorado! In this role, you will manage an assigned commodity category and help execute sourcing strategies that support business objectives, strengthen supplier partnerships, optimize costs, and ensure a reliable supply base. This position offers the opportunity to build procurement expertise, develop strategic sourcing and negotiation capabilities, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Support the development and execution of commodity-specific sourcing strategies, including cost reduction initiatives, cost containment plans, and supply base optimization for your assigned category.

  • Manage supplier relationships within your commodity, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and ongoing communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead or support RFQ/RFP processes, analyze quotes and negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with suppliers under guidance from senior team members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support new product introductions and apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles with suppliers.
  • Participate in and contribute to commodity team projects, taking ownership of assigned action items and meeting deadlines.
  • Track and report on key supplier metrics including quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Who You Are:

You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions. You communicate effectively through a variety of methods and to diverse audiences. You consistently achieve results, even under challenging circumstances, and use data, insights, and sound judgment to support decisions and drive continuous improvement.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity management, category management, supply chain, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Experience with mechanical components in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Exposure to supplier negotiations, RFQ processes, or contract management
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel or similar tools
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) a plus
