Job Description

The Buyer will be responsible for executing sourcing strategies that meet programme targets, cost optimisation goals, and global commodity plans. The role involves supplier negotiations, risk management, supply base development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives.

Program Management

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve program targets for tooling and piece price
  • Plan and manage sourcing activities to meet or exceed cost and delivery objectives
  • Support project timelines through proactive supplier engagement

Cost Optimisation & Value Management

  • Drive year-on-year cost reductions through data analysis and strategic negotiations
  • Collaborate with regional and global suppliers to achieve competitive pricing
  • Lead value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers

Supply Base Development

  • Support cross-functional teams in developing a sustainable and competitive supplier base
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations
  • Identify high-risk suppliers and implement mitigation plans
  • Drive localisation initiatives to meet regulatory and cost requirements

Strategy Development

  • Participate in global commodity discussions to align regional and global sourcing strategies
  • Contribute to long-term regional commodity strategy and integrate into global plans

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Actively contribute to team initiatives and projects
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement across functions

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
  • MBA or equivalent business qualification (preferred)

Experience & Skills

  • 3–10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Knowledge of costing methods and financial fundamentals
  • Experience in supplier risk assessment and mitigation
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., Excel, procurement systems like SAP)
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
