Job Description

This position will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing complex off-the-shelf and specialized components and assemblies to support manufacturing. The perfect candidate has a desire to work with vendors to build relationships that allow the company to make schedules and create a mutually beneficial relationship. The role will use established vendors and pricing and be asked to source new vendors.

of Essential Functions:
  • Develop and maintain contact information for vendors. Establish long-term, trusting relationships that mutually benefit both the supplier and AeroSpec.
  • Execute the procurement of parts and routing between vendors and AeroSpec.
  • Schedule driven procurement based around kit release dates and potentially aggressive schedules.
  • Continually seek to implement new procurement processes that help reduce part lead time, improve quality, and lower costs.
  • Track supplier delivery status using existing reporting tools.
  • Work with scheduling and project teams to process expedites as necessary to support production.
  • Work with AeroSpec’s sales team to estimate lead time and pricing on both off-the-shelf and long-lead items.
  • Manage the disposition of all non-conforming material from suppliers.
  • Assist other AeroSpec buyers during peak workloads with machine part sourcing and other purchases.  

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for the role:
  • 3-5 years’ experience procuring components for a manufacturing or similar operation
  • In-depth purchasing experience in an ERP environment
  • Ability to identify, source, and negotiate with new and existing vendors price, delivery, quality, and shelf status
  • Maintenance of customer records in CRM System
  • Understanding of market costing of commodities in automated equipment, manufacturing, or similar industry, including lead times

Additional Requirements:
  • 2-year degree or equivalent experience; 4-year degree preferred
  • Industry experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ERP/MRP systems
  • CPM/CPSM/CSCP preferred but not required
