Job Description

INTECH Process Automation is seeking a Seasoned Commissioning Technician (Electrical) to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for electrical pre-commissioning, testing, inspection, rectification, and documentation under approved procedures and Engineer supervision. Ensure electrical systems supporting instrumentation and ICSS are safely tested and ready for energization and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning tests under Engineer supervision.
  • Conduct continuity, insulation resistance (IR), earth/grounding, polarity, and functional tests.
  • Inspect and verify cables, terminations, glands, panels, connections, and labeling.
  • Perform checks on UPS, battery systems, control power supplies, and distribution panels.
  • Support testing of electrical power supplies serving Instrumentation, ICSS, DCS, SIS, PLC, and F&G systems.
  • Identify and rectify approved electrical defects and punch-list items.
  • Support LOTO, isolation, de-energization, energization, and safe reinstatement activities.
  • Maintain test equipment, meters, tools, cables, and commissioning consumables.
  • Complete test sheets, checklists, punch records, inspection records, and commissioning documentation.
  • Report failed tests, defects, abnormal conditions, and unresolved issues to the Commissioning Engineer.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, ICSS, Operations, Construction, HSE, and vendors.
  • Comply with PTW, LOTO, electrical safety, HSE, quality, and Company requirements.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Technical Diploma, ITI, or relevant electrical trade certificate; task-specific competency certification where required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas or comparable industrial facilities, including at least 3 years as an Electrical Commissioning Technician.
  • Hands-on experience in cable termination, continuity, IR, earthing, polarity, and functional testing.
  • Experience with LV/control power, UPS, batteries, panels, cables, glands, and electrical connections.
  • Knowledge of electrical interfaces supporting Instrumentation, ICSS, DCS, SIS, PLC, and F&G systems.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, cable schedules, termination diagrams, and commissioning procedures.
  • Experience with punch-list rectification, inspection, testing, and commissioning records.
  • Competent in using multimeters, insulation resistance testers, earth testers, and electrical test equipment.
  • Good coordination and communication with multidiscipline teams, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of PTW/LOTO, electrical safety, HSE, and safe work practices.
