As a Commissioning Project Manager in our Washington, DC office, you will help us empower our clients to verify that building systems perform to design intent and deliver long term value.

Why We Need You

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Project Manager to lead commissioning projects from planning through execution. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, project management skills, and client-facing experience.

Key Responsibilities of a Commissioning Project Manager:

  • Manage commissioning projects across diverse market sectors, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget performance.
  • Lead and coordinate commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and other critical building systems.
  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, specifications, schedules, and reports.
  • Facilitate communication among owners, designers, contractors, and vendors to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Oversee functional performance testing and documentation, ensuring compliance with design, and industry standards.
  • Serve as projects primary client contact, building strong relationships and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor and support staff on commissioning procedures, best practices, and professional growth.

Expertise of our most successful Commissioning Project Manager:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or Sustainability Management from an ABET accredited program
  • LEED AP Building Operations and Maintenance Certification
  • Qualified Commissioning Process Provider Certificate (QCxP)
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • 10+ years of experience in a consulting environment commissioning building systems or leading commissioning projects across MEP disciplines
  • Successful management of large and complex projects for sophisticated client’s healthcare, laboratory, infrastructure, higher education, mission critical, industrial, or R&D facilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership on projects and with staff.
  • Long history of very satisfied clients.

The estimated starting salary range for this position: $115,000 - $180,000.
