How you'll make an impact
As a Commissioning Manager at Hitachi Energy Grid Integration GPQSS, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful planning, execution, and completion of commissioning activities for a portfolio of complex industrial projects, ensuring systems and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. You will lead a small team with a portfolio of projects having the business acumen. Transmissions & Distribution experience will be a big plus.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for various projects, including detailed test scripts and protocols.
* Lead and supervise commissioning teams, providing technical guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
* Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, construction personnel, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of systems and smooth transitions from construction to operation.
* Lead the team in the execution of strategy, tendering, pre-commissioning, functional testing, performance testing, and integrated system testing activities.
* Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and deficiencies during commissioning, working collaboratively with engineering and operations teams to implement effective solutions.
* Ensure all commissioning activities comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, environmental policies, and Hitachi's internal procedures.
* Conduct thorough reviews of design documents, vendor data, and construction progress to identify potential commissioning challenges and proactively mitigate risks.
* Facilitate client acceptance testing and provide necessary training to operational personnel on newly commissioned systems.
* Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and upcoming activities.
Your background
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or relevant discipline).
* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in commissioning roles within complex industrial environments (e.g., power generation, infrastructure, manufacturing, rail, energy solutions).
* Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary commissioning teams and large-scale projects.
* Understanding of various industrial systems, control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA), and instrumentation.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Ability to travel to project sites as required.
