Position: Commissioning Manager (MEP)

Location: Melbourne, VIC
Sector: Building Services Engineering – Data Centres

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning Managers to support the delivery of large-scale data centre projects in Melbourne. This position is responsible for overseeing the full commissioning process, from planning through to handover, ensuring all critical infrastructure systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the commissioning of data centre mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure all systems meet design requirements, performance standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Implement quality assurance and documentation procedures, including inspections, testing, and reporting.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the commissioning process.
  • Provide support and technical training to operations and maintenance staff.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing commissioning practices and applying emerging industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent qualifications (Advanced Diploma or trade certification in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical).
  • Proven experience in data centre or large-scale infrastructure commissioning.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to mission-critical environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate diverse project teams.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE commissioning guidelines will be highly regarded.
