The Commissioning Lead Engineer will take full ownership of LV commissioning activities, ensuring delivery in line with project requirements, contractual obligations, and HSEQ standards. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders within a complex commissioning environment.

  • Lead and ensure full HSEQ compliance throughout the commissioning phase, actively promoting a strong safety culture and effective risk mitigation.
  • Review, implement, and enforce HSEQ requirements, ensuring all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with RAMS, site standards, and applicable legislation.
  • Take overall responsibility for commissioning the complete LV package, ensuring safe, timely delivery in line with contractual and technical requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate commissioning activities to ensure alignment with project contracts, schedules, budgets, and approved standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, OEMs, and external authorities to ensure safe, high-quality execution of commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, provide regular progress reporting, and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with proven experience commissioning Power or Energy from Waste (EfW) plants.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering the full LV package on a large-scale EfW project.
  • Proven leadership in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ), with strong knowledge of relevant legal requirements.
  • Holds a valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) and Permit to Work systems in industrial commissioning environments.
  • Solution-oriented, proactive, and a strong forward planner with excellent organizational skills.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation.
  • Proactive, safety-driven, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple critical activities in parallel.
