Job Description

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Perform functional tests, identify faults, and implement corrective measures.

  • Collaborate with Senior Commissioning Engineers to execute commissioning procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning progress and test results.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and project specifications.

  • Work closely with vendors and contractors to integrate new systems effectively.

  • Provide support for documentation, including test reports and punch lists.

  • Continuously develop technical skills through on-the-job learning and training programs.

  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies

  • Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

He will be an integral part of our team and collaborate closely with Sr.Commissioning engineer transform plans into tangible results. His expertise will shine as you meticulously oversee the commissioning process, ensuring that every component aligns flawlessly and adheres to the highest safety standards. Your attention to detail and problem-solving prowess will be crucial, as you troubleshoot and address any challenges that arise during the commissioning process.

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics or Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in commissioning, preferably in ports and terminals.

  • Hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or control system commissioning.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of commissioning tools, safety standards, and testing procedures.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and follow structured processes.

8. FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES AND DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY

This role operates independently under the general guidance and direction of the Line Manager and is a key member responsible for coordinating the achievement of results of the WCS Business in collaboration with the Line Manager.

Operating expenditure

Within the position’s delegated authority for all normal operating expenditure within approved budgets.

Capital expenditure

Budgeted: To be approved by Line Manager.

Unbudgeted: Unbudgeted to be approved by the Line Manager.
