Due to the growth of our Grid business, we are currently looking for our next Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) in the “Construction & Commissioning” function to participate in this energy transition for Central Europe.

About the Role

The Commissioning Engineer shall be responsible for testing and executing commissioning activities of various projects under execution as per GEV Quality, Construction & Commissioning & EHS Processes.


You will report to the Regional Commissioning Team Leader.

The position requires 100% construction site presence during the execution phase. AC & FACTS projects are located mainly in Germany, with a growing business in Poland The HVDC sites are located in Germany and Netherlands as well as in Singapore, Dubai and Batam for the platform construction.

Mission description

  • Liaise with design office and PM team for timely issuance of data required for preparation of commissioning site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, …)
  • Prepare Commissioning documentation like ITPs, Checklists etc.
  • Electrical and functional testing (hands on testing as standalone tester) of Primary and Secondary devices on the switchyards
  • Publish test reports and follow up completion of relevant quality documentation. Complying with the contract requirements and the project Quality Plan
  • Follow up, be the point of contact and assist in testing and commissioning done by 3rd parties under relevant scope.
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting of the given work progress
  • Ensure all C&P testing and commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders during site execution.

  • You will actively advance the Energy Transition by bringing our AC, FACTS and HVDC projects to a successful completion with our customers
  • You will support our Commissioning Department with your expertise and will develop yourself with the state-of-the-art technologies

What You Bring

  • Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
  • Knowledge in elements of electrical substations: CT/VTs, CBs, Protection Relays, Control Systems, Transformers etc.
  • Significant knowledge and of experience in Commissioning of substations, Power Plants or HVDC Systems.
  • Fluent in English, German language or additional language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optional assignments on offshore platforms.
  • German driver's license class B
