Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Commis Chef plays a vital role in supporting a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. This beginner-level position assists the Chef de Partie in various tasks, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a sanitary and organized kitchen environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Chef de Partie with all aspects of food preparation, including chopping, and cooking basic dishes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper inventory management.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils after service.
• Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards to the Chef de Partie.
• Assist with plating and presentation of dishes.
• Learn and follow kitchen recipes and cooking techniques.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Be willing to learn and take on new challenges.
