Job Description

Under the direction of the Scale Supervisor, the Scale Clerk is responsible for the entries and exits (arrivals and visitors/contractors) on the site. He may also be called upon, for the proper functioning of the company, to modify temporarily or on a regular basis the tasks of the position for reasons such as a slowdown in work, restructuring, etc.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Controls the scale's inputs and exits using the credit card, lights, or drivers' cell phones, if applicable. Verifies and scans manifests for the Canadian government and sends them by email.
  • Enters and weighs trucks of residues, raw materials, or other materials, using the documents (manifests) given by the truck driver and the arrival schedule. Directs truck drivers to the appropriate unloading location with the required documentation.
  • Verifies the correct documents are received for each shipment and ensures that all information is accurate and complete. Carries out follow-up to limit waiting times for trucks entering the site.
  • Registers drivers in the access system and gives them a roundel, sorts out the arrivals by finalizing the weighing and completing documents for the manifests and digitizes arrival manifests.
  • Receive visitors, contractors, workers, delivery people, directs them to the right place, notifies the appropriate departments of their arrival and have them view the safety video if necessary.
  • In partnership with the human resources department, register new employees in the LENEL system and give them access.
  • Returns the copies of the generators and those of the various U.S. states by mail.
  • Prepares manifest shipments with their permit and CCI by FedEx, at the request of the CSRs. Provide the RSC with copies of completed manifests and weigh tickets for billing purposes.
  • Responds to questions and requests from other departments as much as possible, as well as some external calls. Communicates with the various departments in the event of anomalies.
  • Complies with company health, safety, and environmental policy. Implements work methods, procedures, instructions, and prevention rules. Collaborates with colleagues and supervisors to identify and eliminate HSE risks related to their work, makes recommendations to more effectively achieve the HSE objectives set by the company, and immediately reports any issues to the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the aspects of work that can have an impact (hinder or improve) on operations to meet the needs and expectations of clients
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement work practices and services offered to clients
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Functional understanding of English, both verbal and written
  • Experience with the transportation of hazardous materials (TAD) is preferred

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 - 4 Years of overall relevant work experience
