Job Description

Job Role...

At Soho House aCommis Chef is responsible for performing essential food prep, cooking basic dishes, maintaining hygiene, and managing stock to learn core kitchen operations whilst following strict food safety and recipe guidelines.

Main Duties...

  • Food prep: washing, peeling, chopping fruits & vegetables; seasoning meats; preparing sauces and salads.
  • To support the Chef de Partie responsible for the station with cooking tasks and overall meal prep.
  • To maintain spotless workstations, cleaning equipment (knives, bowls), and upholding local health & food safety standards.
  • To receive deliveries, checking quality, manage inventory, rotate stock (FIFO), and discard expired items.
  • To attend trainings to actively learn new techniques, skills and participate in Cook House activities.
  • To perform simple cooking tasks as directed, such as cooking components of dishes.
  • To keep ingredients measured, organised, and ready for service.

Experience Required...

  • Fluent in English & Japanese
  • Organised and reliable
  • Team player
  • Basic Food Safety qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects by hand
  • Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
