We are seeking a passionate Full-Time Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at Pullman Cairns International.

This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging chef to develop their skills within a five-star hotel environment, working alongside experienced chefs and contributing to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. Supporting Coco’s Restaurant, this role is ideal for someone with a passion for à la carte service who is eager to learn and progress their career.

Availability for evening shifts from 2pm onwards is essential.

What You’ll Do:

• Support food preparation and service across à la carte, buffet, banqueting and room service operations.
• Assist with mise-en-place and daily kitchen preparation.
• Prepare ingredients and assist with cooking under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe workstation.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
• Build your culinary skills through hands-on experience and ongoing development.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a motivated chef who is passionate about food and ready to grow within a high-performing kitchen team.

You’ll bring:

• Previous kitchen experience within a hotel, restaurant or similar fast-paced environment.
• Experience with à la carte service is highly regarded.
• Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
• Flexibility to work evening shifts from 2pm onwards, weekends and public holidays.
