The Opportunity:

Bring your creativity, care and culinary skill to the breakfast team at Crystalbrook Riley.

As a Commis Chef, you will support the preparation and presentation of fresh, high-quality breakfast dishes that set the tone for our guests’ day. Working across buffet and à la carte service, you will help maintain strong standards of quality, consistency and presentation while contributing to a smooth and well-organised kitchen operation.

You will work closely with the wider Culinary team, developing your skills in an environment that celebrates fresh local ingredients, thoughtful flavours and responsible hospitality.

This is a part-time position offering 16–24+ hours per week, with a focus on early morning breakfast shifts across a rotating seven-day roster. There will also be opportunities to learn, grow and build your career within a passionate and collaborative kitchen team.

The Talent:

You are motivated, reliable and take pride in your craft. You enjoy the pace of breakfast service, bring a calm and organised approach to the kitchen and are eager to continue developing your culinary skills.

You will bring:

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification
• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment
• Experience supporting breakfast, buffet or à la carte service
• A strong understanding of workplace health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, respectful approach to teamwork
• Strong attention to detail and consistency across preparation, cooking and presentation
• The ability to remain calm, organised and professional during busy service periods
• Availability to work early mornings across a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays
