As a Commis Chef - Bakery, you’re not just overseeing the preparation of high-quality dishes – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, viennoiseries, cakes, and other bakery items according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure all mise en place is prepared and ready for service.
• Maintain consistency in product quality, taste, and presentation.
• Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of ingredient requirements.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all food products (FIFO).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area in accordance with food safety and HACCP standards.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
• Minimize food waste and support cost control initiatives.
• Assist with training and guiding Commis Chefs when required.
• Support the team during busy operations and contribute to a positive working environment.
• Follow all hotel policies, grooming standards, and health and safety procedures.

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

• Technical education in hospitality or culinary school.
• At least 3 years as a Cook in Chinese / Banquet / Main / Pastry Kitchen in a 5-star category hotel or individual restaurant with high standards.
• At least 1 year as a Commis I in an international brand hotel or individual restaurant with high standards.
• Possess good leadership and training skills.
• Up to date with sanitation classes.
• Knowledgeable in HACCP.
