We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis 2 to join our culinary team at our establishment in Visakhapatnam, India. In this role, you will work alongside our experienced kitchen brigade to prepare and present authentic Pan Asian cuisine to the highest standards. As a Commis 2, you will support senior chefs whilst developing your culinary expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. • Prepare and cook Pan Asian dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards, maintaining consistency and quality • Assist senior chefs with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients with precision and efficiency • Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
• Manage mise en place effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods • Operate kitchen equipment, including woks and specialised Asian cooking apparatus, safely and competently
• Support the kitchen brigade in a collaborative manner, responding promptly to instructions and requests • Monitor stock levels and communicate with senior chefs regarding ingredient requirements • Contribute to the development of new Pan Asian dishes and menu items under guidance • Maintain time keeping standards and demonstrate reliability and commitment to the team • Assist with kitchen cleaning and maintenance to uphold organisational standards

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Pan Asian cooking techniques, including Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Malaysian cuisines • Strong knife skills and food preparation techniques • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards • Excellent organisational and time management abilities • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure kitchen environment
• Strong people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a kitchen brigade • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items safely
• Desirable experience as a Commis Chef or equivalent kitchen position • Desirable knowledge of Asian ingredients, flavour profiles, and culinary traditions • Desirable experience with wok cooking and specialised Asian cooking methods • Desirable awareness of food costing and portion control • Desirable completion of culinary training, apprenticeship, or formal culinary programme
