Job Description

Vertex is seeking a Commercial Training, Senior Manager to enhance the skills, capabilities, and knowledge of customer-facing teams supporting reimbursement and patient access. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating impactful training programs that support field readiness, onboarding, and ongoing capability development for field reimbursement and patient support audiences.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in reimbursement, access, training strategy, and adult learning, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical, field-relevant learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify training needs and recommend learning solutions for field reimbursement teams and patient support groups
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate training programs, workshops, and learning initiatives for field reimbursement learners and patient support groups
  • Design, create, and deliver effective training content that improves learner capability and supports desired business outcomes.
  • Lead and support new hire training and onboarding programs, including coaching and facilitation.
  • Analyze performance gaps and develop targeted training initiatives to address capability needs and drive results.
  • Continuously identify and implement new approaches, practices, and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of training services.
  • Oversee processes associated with the Communications Review Committee (CRC), procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, budget tracking, and relevant leadership coordination.
  • Manage external vendors for content design, development, and training support, as needed.
  • Collaborate across functions and geographies to ensure training solutions are consistent, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Translate reimbursement and access concepts into practical learning materials, tools, and workshops for customer-facing teams.
  • Support ongoing capability development through refresher training, reinforcement plans, and field enablement resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of training excellence and organizational capability building.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and facilitating training programs for field-based, customer-facing, or cross-functional teams.
  • Strong instructional design experience and the ability to facilitate training workshops for both small and large groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze performance gaps and create learning solutions that drive measurable results.
  • Strong project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects requiring collaboration across functional areas.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed environment, including coordination across regions or countries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, including mentoring, coaching, on-the-job training, classroom training, e-learning, workshops, and simulations.
  • Experience supporting reimbursement, access, patient support, or related healthcare field functions.

Pay Range:

$138,400 - $207,600

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
