• Knowledge of merchandising principles, sales techniques, sales steering, sales channels, replenishment, range presentation, data analytics, sales KPIs, P&L, IKEA product range, service products, competitors, local market, and customer services.
• Understanding and practical use of IKEA manuals, mandatories, Concept Review, and Topic Review checklists.

Your responsibilities

• Lead by example on the shop floor by coaching, supporting, and developing co-workers.
• Deliver an exceptional customer shopping experience across all customer touchpoints.
• Ensure the department is fully stocked, priced, clean, well-assembled, and commercially presented.
• Own department goals and execute action plans in partnership with the Commercial Manager.
• Contribute to the store business plan by setting individual goals and sharing product knowledge with customers and co-workers.
• Identify and act on commercial opportunities based on customer insights, local market trends, and competitor activity.
• Respond quickly to seasonal opportunities, product availability changes, and customer feedback to maximize sales.
• Drive sales of top-selling and prioritized products, including IKEA service products, through effective sales steering and forecasting.
• Implement IKEA commercial priorities, local market relevance, pricing strategy, and product quality initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs, analyze business performance, and implement improvement actions.
• Promote sustainability initiatives and engage the team in achieving IKEA's sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with Store Operations and Support Office teams to share best practices and improve performance.
• Partner with People & Culture to ensure the right number of competent co-workers are in place.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and retain team members while supporting succession planning.
• Build a strong sales culture by developing co-workers' product knowledge, sales skills, and customer focus.
• Oversee fulfilment operations, including goods receiving, replenishment, customer handout, and reverse flow.
• Ensure high product availability, operational readiness, and cost-efficient fulfilment operations.
• Maintain the availability and condition of operational tools and equipment.
• Balance commercial performance, operational efficiency, staffing, customer service, and profitability in a multichannel retail environment.
• Act as a home furnishing specialist and inspire customers with IKEA solutions while driving business growth.
