Job Description
The Commercial Strategy Specialist III supports multiple Facilities & Construction service categories by developing and executing sourcing and commercial strategies, managing contracts, and supporting capital and operational initiatives across a wide range of stakeholders.The ideal candidate has strong contract management, sourcing strategy, and negotiation experience, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while building effective supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial and sourcing strategies for facilities and construction capital projects, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule.
- Support multiple service categories, including but not limited to:
- D&C / F&C Pad Construction
- Hydrovac
- NDE
- Survey
- Painting & Coating
- Inspection Services
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact between internal proponents, suppliers, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Track and evaluate sourcing effectiveness through spend analysis, market research, and supplier engagement.
- Identify and implement cost‑reduction and value‑creation opportunities without impacting quality or safety.
- Lead sourcing activities including supplier identification, RFP issuance, bid evaluation, negotiation, and award decisions.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate contracts (MSAs, commercial agreements, purchase orders) in coordination with Legal.
- Manage contract lifecycles, including renewals, amendments, and change orders.
- Execute sourcing and procurement activities using ERP and sourcing platforms (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
- Develop bid packages, sourcing strategies, and evaluation matrices.
- Resolve contract and commercial disputes related to scope, pricing, and performance.
- Interface with internal groups including:
- Internal Audit (supplier audits)
- Accounts Payable (invoice reconciliation)
- HSE (contractor safety programs)
- Risk Management (insurance requirements)
- Supplier Registration and Contract Management teams
- Monitor supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding capacity, capability, cost competitiveness, and performance.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing labor or service contracts
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Distribution, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and spend analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to present to individuals and groups internally and externally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic analytical tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functional teams
- Basic project management skills
- Ability to adapt to change and support others through change
- Experience with SAP, Ariba, Spotfire, and/or Power BI
- Prior experience supporting land‑based construction activities, including pad construction, hydrovac, NDE, survey, and inspection services
- Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, agility and fit for duty.
