Job Summary

Identifies, solicits, develops, manages, services, and expands business relationships in an assigned market. Offers a full range of loan, deposit, and non-credit services to existing and prospective business members. Refer personal financial needs of business members to appropriate Relationship Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Interviews applicants to develop financial and credit information, to ascertain needs, abilities, earnings, and risk. Requests necessary information including financial and operating statements and other information and documentation required to adequately assess risk. Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Solicits and processes loan requests of $100,000 and higher. Works with Senior Officers on larger and more complex loans. Prepare and present all loans to Credit Committee in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Works closely with Leadership of the Credit Union’s Lending Group to develop skills in prospecting, client management and call execution.
  • Develops, services and provides on-going management for business and individual members.
  • Works with Member Business Loans CUSO to evaluate and extend credit and terms in accordance with NCUA and Lake Trust Credit Union policy and business strategy.
  • Assumes responsibility for proper documentation and review of loan documents. Monitors loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and to ascertain any developing trends.
  • Contacts potential and existing members to maintain productivity and profitability in lending and non-lending relationships.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in business development with commercial members required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of PC applications
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to solicit and develop business relationships with members.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, occasionally overnight.

Level I

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience required
  • Formal commercial credit training
  • Knowledge and understanding of credit and finance
  • Demonstrate an understanding of commercial lending and has an understanding of the basics of credit and finance.

Level II

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business degree preferred)
  • 5 years related work experience required, 7 preferred
  • Advanced understanding of credit and finance
  • Demonstrate an understanding of major technical aspects of commercial lending, and has a clear understanding of the basics of credit and finance.
