Job Description

ATCO Energy is growing its commercial business across Alberta, and we're looking for a driven sales professional to help expand our presence in the commercial market.

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Sales, this role is responsible for identifying opportunities, building a sales pipeline, and acquiring new commercial customers for ATCO Energy's electricity and natural gas solutions. You'll play a direct role in growing our customer base by engaging business owners and decision-makers, uncovering customer needs, and delivering solutions that create value for both the customer and ATCO Energy.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating opportunities through prospecting, developing relationships with new customers, and owning the sales process from initial contact through to signed agreement.

On a Daily Basis You Will...

• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities.
• Consistently generate new customer meetings through prospecting, referrals, networking, and business development activities.
• Achieve and exceed annual sales and gross margin targets.
• Win new electricity and natural gas customers across Alberta's commercial market.
• Develop strong relationships with decision-makers that lead to long-term customer value and future referral opportunities.
• Maintain high levels of sales activity and disciplined pipeline management.
• Leverage market knowledge and customer insights to uncover new growth opportunities.

New Customer Acquisition & Pipeline Development

• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, and outbound customer outreach.
• Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities within an assigned territory.
• Identify and engage key decision-makers within target commercial accounts.
• Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer energy needs and business objectives.
• Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact through negotiation and contract execution.
• Maintain accurate sales activity, opportunity, and pipeline information within CRM systems.

What You Have

• 3-5 years of success in a B2B sales role with a strong emphasis on new business acquisition.
• Demonstrated experience prospecting and developing opportunities through outbound sales activities.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Experience managing a sales pipeline and closing complex commercial opportunities.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales activity management.
• Previous experience within Alberta's retail energy industry is preferred.
• Experience in utilities, energy, commodities, or other competitive sales environments is considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
