Commercial Sales Intern

Position Overview

Shaw Industries, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking motivated and driven students to join our Commercial Sales Internship Program for Summer 2027. This immersive 8-week summer internship provides rising college seniors with hands-on exposure to the commercial flooring industry, sales process, and business operations.

At Shaw, we believe in developing talent through real-world experience. Interns will spend time at our Commercial Headquarters in Cartersville, Georgia, participating in onboarding, product training, professional development, and selling skills development. Throughout the program, interns will also travel to markets across the United States to shadow Account Executives, engage with customers and gain firsthand experience in commercial sales.

The internship is designed to provide exposure to multiple aspects of our business, including sales, operations, customer relationships, and product knowledge. Interns will develop an understanding of how these functions work together to deliver value to customers while gaining insight into Shaw's culture, business strategy, and career opportunities.

This program offers a unique opportunity to build professional skills, explore career interests, and gain meaningful business experience that complements classroom learning.

Responsibilities

• Travel with Account Executives and other sales leaders in market
• Gain knowledge of Shaw's commercial products, solutions, and business operations
• Participate in customer visits, sales meetings and relationship-building activities
• Network with Shaw associates across multiple functions
• Conduct customer and market research to identify potential opportunities and support prospecting efforts
• Assist with prospecting activities, account planning, and lead generation initiatives
• Assist with showroom activities and special projects as assigned
• Develop an understanding of the commercial sales process and customer lifecycle
• Learn how sales, operations, and customer experience work together to support business growth

Qualifications

• Rising college senior pursuing a degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative and professionalism
• Interest in sales, customer relationship management and business development
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the internship program
