Commercial Roofing Estimator

Tulsa, OK | On-Site | $60,000–$90,000, Based on Experience

A well-established commercial roofing contractor is looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join its Tulsa team.

This is a good opportunity for someone who knows commercial roofing, can put together accurate estimates and enjoys being involved in the full preconstruction process rather than simply completing takeoffs and moving on to the next bid.

The Estimator will work closely with sales, project management, operations, customers and suppliers, taking projects from the initial bid through handoff to the project team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Review plans, specifications and project documents to understand scope
• Complete takeoffs and prepare detailed commercial roofing estimates
• Estimate labor, materials, equipment and overall project costs
• Prepare proposals for general contractors, building owners and private clients
• Track bids and follow opportunities through the preconstruction process
• Request shop drawings and prepare submittal documentation
• Obtain product data, samples and other required project information
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
• Review products and project approaches for cost effectiveness
• Communicate with GCs, architects, engineers, owners and subcontractors when scope or pricing changes
• Track estimated costs against actual project costs to improve bidding accuracy
• Support sales and project management through the project handoff
• Answer customer questions and help resolve issues before the job begins
• Assist operations with budgeting when needed

What They're Looking For

• Previous estimating experience within construction
• Commercial roofing experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read plans, specifications and construction documents
• Experience completing takeoffs and preparing bids
• Good understanding of labor, material and project costs
• Experience with Excel and estimating software
• Strong attention to detail and documentation
• Comfortable communicating with contractors, customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Able to manage multiple bids and deadlines at the same time
• Comfortable visiting jobsites, climbing ladders and completing field measurements or core cuts when required
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree is an asset

Compensation

$60,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience
