Job Description

Murrey’s Disposal, a Waste Connections Company in Fife, WA, is looking for a safety-focused and reliable Rear-Load Garbage Truck Driver to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping our communities clean and running smoothly every day.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, prioritizes safety, and enjoys being out on the road while working as part of a team. Previous waste industry experience is a plus, but candidates with strong driving experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Pay and Schedule:
Competitive Wages: Starting between $35.00 and $35.50/HR
Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed, totaling a 45-hour workweek.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes.

  • Efficiently service customers by collecting recyclables as per route sheets.

  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.

  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading refuse.

  • Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

  • Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers.


Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Involves frequent heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100 pounds.

  • Adherence to safety protocols due to exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.

  • Moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to fumes.

  • Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required (Class A CDL not required).

  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, communicating); high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum one year of directly related experience.

  • Basic knowledge of truck components for pre-and post-trip inspections.

  • Safety-sensitive: YES
