AVP / VP, Commercial Real Estate Underwriting

Hybrid | Washington, DC Metro or Los Angeles

A fast-growing national commercial lender is seeking an AVP or VP-level Commercial Real Estate Underwriter to join its expanding Real Estate Finance platform.

The Role

The selected candidate will underwrite and execute complex CRE transactions across a broad range of loan structures, including bridge, construction, mezzanine, and senior lending facilities. The position offers significant exposure to institutional-quality transactions and direct interaction with borrowers, originators, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and structure commercial real estate transactions

• Build financial models and prepare credit memoranda

• Analyze sponsorship, property performance, and market fundamentals

• Coordinate due diligence, legal documentation, and loan closings

• Partner with originations and portfolio management teams throughout the transaction lifecycle

Qualifications

• Approximately 6+ years of CRE underwriting experience for AVP consideration

• Approximately 8+ years for VP-level consideration

• Broad exposure across multiple CRE asset classes and loan structures

• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills

• Experience with Argus, CoStar, and REIS preferred

• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
