Commercial Property Lawyer 3+ PQE

An established and growing law firm in Christchurch is on the hunt for a talented Commercial Property Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (3+ years PQE). If you're the kind of legal professional who enjoys translating legalese into English, takes pride in their work, and doesn't mysteriously vanish when the phone rings, keep reading.

The Role:

You'll be joining a highly regarded property team that prides itself on clear communication, solid collaboration, and a refreshingly human approach to client service. You'll handle a broad range of commercial property matters and be trusted to manage your own caseload but don't worry, this isn't a sink-or-swim setup. Support is on hand, along with colleagues who actually enjoy working together (really).

Who We're Looking For:

Someone who:

• Can explain legal concepts without sounding like they've swallowed a textbook
• Plays nicely with colleagues (no lone wolves or glory hunters here)
• Understands that "working under pressure" doesn't mean shouting at the printer
• Has a calm, can-do attitude especially when the land registry throws a curveball
• Is IT literate and unafraid of new systems (bonus points if you don't treat Outlook like a hostile entity)
• Genuinely cares about clients and colleagues alike
• Picks up the phone when clients call preferably within this decade

Essentials:

• Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx with 3+ years PQE
• Organised, self-motivated, and proactive (you'll have the freedom, but also the responsibility)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills typos don't belong in titles
• Confident managing your own caseload without vanishing into a filing cabinet
• Happy to represent the firm's values (were more than just price tags)

Desirable Extras:

• Marketing and networking savvy (no need to be a LinkedIn influencer, just approachable)
• Able to spot cross-referral opportunities and share the love across departments
• Negotiation skills that don't require dramatic courtroom scenes
• Ability to adapt, grow, and get stuck in
