JOB DIMENSIONS:
Under general supervision, it establishes/drives/supports new market growth in the commercial plumbing/high-rise market, through distribution sales, established plumbing agents, manufacturer partnerships, engineer/contractor/design-build specification, and the potential for private label opportunities. Travel on company business up to 50-70%.

Reports To: National Account Manager – North America

Examples of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Market Development:
• Establish and pursue strategy for Cla-Val commercial plumbing/high-rise market presence and growth:
◦ Evaluate, hire, and support manufacturer representative agency network
◦ Investigate opportunities for private label or manufacturer partnerships
◦ Track market trends, competitive landscapes, customer feedback, adjust strategies as necessary
◦ Develop genuine industry relationships and presence
◦ Organizing price structures, incentives, proposals, agent agreements
• Perform basic outside sales functions (independently and/or on behalf of agencies):
◦ Warm/Cold calling to key contractors, distributors, designers
◦ Deliver clear, compelling sales presentations
◦ Conduct training for agencies, distributors, contractors tailored to audience needs and technical understanding levels.
◦ Prepare materials, work with the Marketing Department, for high stakes executive meetings, industry events, and customer briefings;

◦ Exemplify basic, sound sales techniques, including fact finding through insightful questioning, active listening, and relationship building by showing genuine interest in people and understanding of their business;
◦ Represent the company at industry events/conferences where active networking is mandatory;
◦ Proactively plan and execute sales trips/visits with up to a 3 month outlook;
◦ Maintain forecasting documentation;

Market Support:
• Manage customer inquiries via phone and digital channels with prompt, accurate, and complete responses;
• Prepare quotes using internal systems, maintain customer records
• Coordinate with headquarters to ensure accurate specifications, pricing, and order fulfillment;
• Support warranty claims, returns, and service requests by collaborating with factory teams

Technical Competency & Product Knowledge
• Develop proficiency in hydraulic-operated automatic control valves and their respective plumbing/high rise applications
• Train industry professionals on the above
• Review technical documents, specifications, and drawings to guide product selection.
• Partner with engineering and product specialists for customer-specific solutions.

• Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations
• Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES: Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
• 2 – 7+ years of experience in inside sales, business development, outside sales and/or Sales Management in a technical, industrial, mechanical, waterworks, plumbing, or related industries is highly preferred; considerable training in company products and applications;
• Bachelor's degree (Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field), or equivalent experience may be substituted;

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written;
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities;
• Strong presentation skills;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Experience with CRM/ERP systems
• Able to analyze market and determine customer product needs;
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints;
• Solid understanding of wholesale distribution channels and nuances;
• Ability to learn technical product lines (hydraulic valves & controls);
• Ability to interact confidently and professionally in a networking environment;
• Able to plan, schedule, organize, and prioritize work with limited oversight;
• Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with sales, office, and warehouse staff and management, engineers, distributors, end users, contractors, and governmental representatives;

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time;
• Must be able to climb if required to access valve equipment locations;
• Must be able to walk for extended periods of time and distances to access customer installations;
• Able to lift and move items up to 30 lbs.;
• Able to safely operate a motor vehicle; and
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;

• Able to travel on company business as required;
• Must currently reside within Sales Territory;
• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Have and maintain an acceptable driving record;
