Job Description

Your role & work environment

Transaction Services (TS) is one of ING Wholesale Banking core business lines. We offer a suite of WB products and services to wholesale banking clients. We are a significant contributor to the growth and profitability of the WB. Our strategy is aimed at ensuring that we continue to support sustained growth for the WB by delivering competitive and relevant TS products.

Product Management (PM) Trade is a department within WB TS. The purpose of the PM Trade team is to unlock existing business potential and activate new client/market opportunities. As of December 1st 2025 a new team has been established within Product Management: Trade Distribution. The activities of Trade Distribution are to successfully distribute Trade assets (Supply Chain Finance and Receivable Finance) to other banks and investors as well as originate new Trade transactions through the Trade banking network.

As a newly formed unit, the team is designed to operate with agility and a collaborative mindset—working closely with the central Trade Centre of Expertise and the TSAM teams (Central and in-country) to ensure alignment with ING’s broader Trade strategy.

The Commercial Product Manager is co-responsible for managing and optimizing ING’s Trade portfolio through active asset acquisition and distribution strategies, including sell downs, credit risk insurance, and participations. The role is exploratory and entrepreneurial—actively shaping and expanding its scope in alignment with ING’s Trade strategy. This includes promoting capital velocity initiatives, optimizing portfolio returns and revenues and contributing to cross-functional innovation and strategic growth. The position encompasses supporting the Trade Sales teams in the countries as well as the CoE teams in Brussels and Amsterdam with client pitches and deal structuring the relevant countries. In parallel, the role ensures operational excellence in daily execution and supports the development of scalable, automated processes.

Your responsibilities

  • Focus on securing Lead Mandates for syndicated transactions for Receivable Finance and Supply Chain Finance transactions.
  • Be involved in RfP’s, client pitches together with the Trade Sales Centre of Expertise in Brussels and Amsterdam but also with the Trade Sales teams in the origination countries.
  • Actively manage Wholesale Banking Trade assets to optimize returns through sell downs, credit risk insurance, participations, and other capital velocity strategies
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with clients, financial institutions, and investors to support portfolio performance and identify syndication and expansion opportunities
  • Coordinate daily execution activities including forecasting, limit management, KYC, FATCA, and other related tasks.
  • Oversee the technical and operational setup for existing programs, with a focus on scalable and automated processes.
  • Act as a key liaison for Trade-related capital velocity initiatives, engaging with internal stakeholders such as Loan Distribution Group, Sector Coverage, Credit Risk, Legal, TS Sales, TSAM, and Product teams.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams to explore and expand the scope of the role, driving innovation in transaction structuring and execution.

What we are looking for

  • Strong commercial drive, ability to support and challenge TS Sales teams in a positive, can-do manner.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging across seniority levels and functions
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks, take ownership, and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • A colleague with analytical skills who takes decisions based on data and facts
  • Strong resilience: your ability to navigate through ambiguity and simplify complexity
  • A proactive, creative and an out-of-the-box thinker
  • An energetic, motivating person who can work as part of a team but also independently.
  • A colleague who displays all aspects of ING’s Orange behavior

Proven track record and technical skills

  • Master's degree, preferably in (Business) Economics or (Quantitative) Finance.
  • Understanding of capital optimization strategies, including sell-downs, credit risk insurance, and participations
  • Demonstrated ability to run end-to-end loan syndication/distribution processes either in a Wholesale Banking Front Office role or within Loan Distribution Group.
  • A minimum of 7 (for III) or 10 (for IV) years of work experience in banking, finance and working capital solutions
