Job Description

Position Title: Commercial Partner Manager

Location: South San Francisco, CA

Time Type: Full Time

The Opportunity

At Ohalo, we are building the future of agriculture with our breakthrough Boosted Breeding™ platform. We are seeking a highly driven, execution-oriented Commercial Partner Manager to serve as the key relationship manager to drive commercial objectives for our domestic and international channel and business development partners.

After business development partnerships are closed, you will be responsible for ensuring those partners are delivering on our jointly developed strategic and operating plans. You will turn strategy into revenue goals, performance metrics, and execution plans that will deliver the expected outcomes.

You will ensure partners, growers, process, and supply chain collaborators get the instructions, support, and materials they need and deliver on the outcomes we expect, on the expected timelines. You will work in-country with international partners and travel extensively, as needed to support execution.

You will operate at the intersection of partner performance management, commercial sales, and cross-functional execution.

Help change the world with your strategic thinking, action-oriented operational excellence, and the commercial instincts that turn a breakthrough technology into a thriving business.

Responsibilities

1) Strategic Planning

  • Develop long-range business plans with business development team, finance, and partners.
  • Define goals: adoption, acres, grower outcomes, partner deliverables, revenue, and pipeline conversion.
  • Deliver action plans, with contingencies, risks, and alternative paths clearly identified and defined.

2) Commercial Execution Ownership

  • Own the commercial execution plan with partners. You ensure partnerships deliver against defined revenue, adoption, and operational objectives.
  • Identify execution bottlenecks early (seed readiness, agronomy readiness, partner resourcing, training gaps, etc.) and drive solutions cross-functionally.
  • Drive key support for partners - product and supply chain, regulatory, legal, marketing, agronomic training, and support.
  • Build repeatable playbooks for market entry, partner activation, and scaled rollout.

3) Internal Coordination

  • Ensure internal resources (commercial, breeding, seed production, regulatory, program operations) are delivering on their goals to meet partner expectations.
  • Capture and operationalize Voice-of-Customer / Voice-of-Partner insights into product positioning, adoption strategy, and go-to-market improvements.
  • Feed real-world learning into the commercial roadmap and cross-functional execution framework.
  • Serve as the primary execution-layer translator of customer needs into Ohalo priorities.

Candidate Profile

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Intelligent, motivated, creative, organized, partner-success oriented and driven by a natural instinct for commercial success.
  • Drives commercial outcomes by building compelling business cases, earning partner commitment, and moving decisions through clarity, credibility, and relentless follow-through..
  • 8+ years experience owning commercial execution with business development partners, preference for experience in agriculture, seed, crop inputs, or food supply chains, but not required.
  • Strong capability to move from strategy to execution detail: milestones, accountability, forecasting, risk management, performance reviews.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with startup urgency — can build structure where none exists.
  • Ability to travel significantly (expected 30–50%+) to support partners, growers, and international execution.

Core Strengths

  • GM mindset: owns outcomes end-to-end; not just relationships.
  • High accountability: follows through, escalates early, drives clarity.
  • Strong communicator: sells the value and the plan to external partners with clarity and conviction, while aligning internal teams to deliver.
  • Strong commercial judgment: understands adoption constraints in crops, seasonal rhythms, and partner incentives.
  • Revenue-driven: tracks partner performance against commercial targets relentlessly

Bonus Points For

  • Agriculture experience, particularly in seed/inputs
  • International market execution experience (licensing, agronomy, sales training, product marketing, regulatory coordination).
  • Experience building customer success + partner execution systems (playbooks, CRM discipline, forecasting).

The anticipated base pay range for this role is $175,000 - $230,000 per year for our South San Francisco location.
