The Commercial Marketing Intern position is a temporary, 12-week role designed to introduce students or recent graduates to the property and casualty insurance industry. In this program, the intern will be tasked with leading and completing a Lean Six Sigma project, with the opportunity to earn their Yellow Belt certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend Lean Six Sigma training and lead a project from inception to completion.
• Interact and collaborate with internal departments to gain industry knowledge and achieve project goals.
• Prepare and present project updates to senior management.
• Become familiar with property and casualty insurance industry terminology.
• Complete assigned trainings on property and casualty insurance industry knowledge.
• Assist team members with day-to-day tasks and assignments.
• Shadow team members and assigned executive mentor to gain insider knowledge of property and casualty insurance.
• Network with others through participation in social company events.
• Attend onboarding and training as assigned.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As a summer intern in the Commercial Marketing Department, you will work on a project focused on improving how we manage agent contact and login information. The project will include developing a process to periodically ask agents to verify their contact information as well as reviewing our current processes to identify opportunities for improvement. You will work closely with your project mentor to understand how these processes work today and help develop practical ideas to make them more efficient and effective. This opportunity will give you hands-on experience with commercial lines insurance and several business and technology platforms, including Salesforce.
