About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, the Commercial Manager – Subcontracts & Supply is responsible for managing downstream commercial, procurement and subcontracting activities across bids and project set up, ensuring commercial governance, competitive sourcing, and efficient subcontract formation. The role provides commercial advice, supports tender development, oversees vendor management processes, and ensures alignment with UGL commercial frameworks. As required, the role provides general support to project delivery teams based on capacity.

What will a day in this role look like:

·Lead and develop a small downstream commercial/procurement team, ensuring workload allocation, coaching and quality assurance.

·Bid and tender commercial support - Lead end to end downstream procurement and subcontracting processes for bids and project mobilisations.

·Prepare and issue RFx documentation, coordinate supplier engagement, and conduct commercial evaluations.

·Vendor & Supply Chain Management including Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander and other social initiatives

·Support continuous improvement across procurement and commercial systems and processes.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team:

·Experience in commercial, procurement or subcontract management within engineering, construction or utilities.

·Strong understanding of subcontract formation and commercial evaluation processes.

·Experience leading or coaching small teams.

·Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.

·Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Procurement or equivalent experience (preferred).

·Strong leadership, people management and communication skills to manage and mentor commercial and project team resources and key management and stakeholder engagement.
