An exciting opportunity to be part of the Commercial team at Leonardo, within our Electronic Warfare (EW) Division, which is a major growth area with ambitious targets over the short to medium term. Leonardo is looking for an ambitious Commercial Manager to work in the fast paced and dynamic environment of the Surveillance and Protection Technologies (S&PT) sector within its Electronic Warfare (EW) Division. Reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager, the role interfaces with a variety of UK and International customers focused within the Export arena and works as part of integrated project teams (IPTs). This role will have the overall responsibility and strategic oversight for two IPTs within the sector, and will cover the maintenance of current contracts and the development of commercially sound, high quality bids/proposals.

What you’ll bring

• Provide strategic and tactical oversight of commercial aspects relating to the IPT projects including bid activities, negotiation, contract award(s) and responsibility for the overall pricing position across various related contracts.
• Provide guidance and support to more junior members of the team.
• Provide commercial guidance and support to the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and Senior leadership.
• Review, drafting, negotiating and administration of complex terms and conditions of contract, and be responsible for the guidance to the procurement function on flow down orders to the supply chain.
• Produce, document and brief [obtaining any necessary approvals in line with delegated authorities] clear and informed commercial strategies to leverage the best possible outcomes for Leonardo UK.
• Drafting and reviewing agreements such Terms and conditions, Licence agreements Non-Disclosure Agreements and Collaboration agreements that may apply to the specific programme
• Providing commercial leadership and administration to the projects and/or contracts once established, including change control management, monitoring performance of its contractual obligations and management of commercial risk.
• Producing accurate and compliant customer pricing by applying the appropriate pricing strategy and model to cost estimates.
• Advocate for and represent the Commercial function and Leonardo as the lead at customer /supplier meetings.
• Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers to deliver the value to the company.
• Work as an integral member of the Integrated Project Management Team to support the winning of new business, strategy and the management and delivery of current contracts.

• Managing own workload, highlighting areas of conflict or priority and effectively managing stakeholder and customer expectations.

We’re looking for someone who

• Has demonstrable experience and success related to large value contracts with UK MOD, the US Government and other export customers.
• Has demonstrable experience of ITAR, FARS/DEFARS and associated US government procurement regulations and process
• Is able to advocate at senior levels of an organisation
• Is comfortable preparing and providing senior level briefs
• Is readily able to identify and carry out complex commercial strategies, managing stakeholder and customer relationships to obtain unsuccessful outcomes.
• Has a flexible mindset and adaptable approach.
• Capable of identifying priorities for more junior staff and taking on day to day management of them, as well as recognising the need to escalate to the Senior Commercial Manager.
• Be extremely skilled at managing a variety of tasks across a portfolio, adeptly prioritising and communicating effectively with key stakeholders and customers.
• Has a detailed understanding of business finance, profit and loss, margin and mark up, escalation, foreign exchange
