Job Description

About the role

This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and maximising subscriber value through pricing, propositions, and trading performance across News and Puzzles products. It manages the end-to-end price rise process, supports the delivery of the offer strategy, and leads the development of new products and upgrade initiatives. Working closely with Insights and Analytics, the role leverages data to optimise performance, improve customer outcomes, and support efficient team execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the development and enhancement of our packs and propositions; work with the Pricing Manager to drive initiatives to upgrade subscribers to higher-value offerings to maximise revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the other Commercial Manager to adopt an always on test and learn of our save and downgrade offer strategy. Use insight to drive strategic changes using the in-house dynamic offer recommendation tool.
  • Ensure customer facing communications are optimised, collaborating with design and marketing teams to continuously improve both on and offsite assets.
  • Manage the end-to-end price rise process to ensure subscribers transition seamlessly to appropriate pricing tiers.
  • Collaborate with the Insights and Analytics teams to identify revenue optimisation opportunities and partner with technical teams to drive operational improvements.
  • Be the lead on certain CapEx projects, designed to launch new capabilities, by collaborating with stakeholders across the business.
  • Support on subscriptions trading performance across News and Puzzles products, leveraging data to analyse customer churn and cancellation trends and provide actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Brilliant at translating customer insight into strong commercial strategies that drive momentum and strong business performance.
  • Very commercially aware and numerate, able to identify and influence trading performance, and size commercial opportunities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to identify, understand and influence trends.
  • Experience managing complex projects end to end, ideally in a commercial or marketing environment.
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to explain complex issues succinctly, and confident at presenting your recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building professional relationships up, down and across the business.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with an ability to take initiative and proactively pursue commercial opportunities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to competing tight deadlines under pressure, with a positive attitude.
  • Proficient in Excel/Google sheets or equivalent.

Experience within a media and/or subscriptions environment is desirable but not essential.
