Our client, one of Ireland’s leading Main Contractors, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to work across two of Ireland’s largest upcoming civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work autonomously, supported by a balanced mix of site visits, office time, and hybrid working options. To excel in this role, the preferred candidate will bring strong commercial leadership experience on large-scale civil and infrastructure developments.
Responsibilities
Lead the commercial function across two major civil infrastructure projects, ensuring all contractual and financial objectives are achieved.
Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting throughout all project phases.
Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, appointment, and performance monitoring.
Ensure full compliance with contract terms, risk management frameworks, and commercial governance standards.
Conduct regular commercial reviews with project directors and senior stakeholders.
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks proactively.
Lead valuations, variations, claims, and final account negotiations.
Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and project delivery teams to maintain financial accuracy.
Support continuous improvement, commercial strategy refinement, and cost-saving initiatives across both projects.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager delivering large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts, procurement routes, and commercial controls.
Ability to manage multiple project streams simultaneously with strong commercial acumen.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or similar discipline.
Full right to work in Ireland and the flexibility to travel between project, office, and hybrid working environments.
