Commercial Loan Officer (C&I)
Location: San Diego, CA (preferred) | Orange County / Riverside considered

About the Role
This is not a street-sales lending role C&I opportunities come to the bank. You will own those opportunities end-to-end — from first meeting through underwriting, approval, and ongoing monitoring.
The bank is primarily a commercial real estate lender with a select, growing C&I portfolio This role exists to ensure those business loans are smart, well-structured, and well-managed.
What You’ll Do
Meet with business owners, CEOs, and CFOs to understand their businesses
Analyze borrower financials (often messy): financial statements, tax returns, PFS, cash flow, projections
Perform pre-screening, underwriting, and credit risk assessment
Structure credit facilities (working capital lines, term loans, acquisition-related lending)
Draft LOIs and credit memoranda with clear recommendations
Present deals to senior management / credit committee
Monitor C&I portfolio (quarterly/annual reviews, covenants, risk ratings)
Stay current on economic, industry, and borrower trends
What We’re Looking For
Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills
Advanced Excel proficiency
Ability to evaluate cash flow, EBITDA adjustments, and projections
Comfortable presenting recommendations to senior leadership
Professional, client-facing presence (someone business owners want to meet)
High accountability and ownership mindset
Backgrounds That Fit
Commercial / C&I lending or underwriting
SBA lending
FP&A / corporate finance
Investment banking / private equity / acquisition analysis
Accounting or finance roles with deep analytical responsibility
Banking experience helpful, not required.
Requirements
5+ years in lending, credit, finance, FP&A, accounting, or related roles
Strong communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
