General Description
Provides vital support to loan department and its officers where errors can result in a significant loss to the bank. Prepares and maintains documents for a variety of loan types, existing and new loans, including loan disclosures; answers questions, and assists with loan closings, authorizing funding after document verification; disburses loan proceeds; provides assistance to customers. Performs various operational functions including but not limited to sending wires, approving settlement statements, balancing Closing Disclosures and General Ledgers. Performs loan transfers, orders appraisals, title insurance and credit reports. Responsibility to make sure all loans are prepared, closed, and funded after they are originated and underwritten by a loan officer. Must be able to multi-task while working on various projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Creates and completes loan files; checks for required documentation
2. Aids Senior Lenders, gathers information and serves as a secondary point of contact for customers.
3. Prepares and maintains documents for multi-member entities, complex commercial loans including participation loans and other loan types per bank policy.
4. Interprets entity organizational charts, resolutions, By-Laws and Operating Agreements.
5. Loan Officer’s point of contact.
6. Establish and maintain relationships with clients.
7. May make recommendations on loan transactions but has no individual loan authority.
8. Handles customer requests.
9. Conducts loan closings as needed with loan officer direction.
10. Processes loan payments as requested.
11. Collects financial information from customers.
12. May represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to promote the Bank’s image and obtain additional business.
13. Obtains credit reports; orders appraisals and title work; prepares legal filings and release deeds.
14. Answers phones; prepares correspondence and various reports for review and approval of supervisor.
15. Assists in CRA reporting information for denied and withdrawn loans.
16. Works Insurance Exception reports to maintain current insurance on loan files and handles force placed insurance.
17. Requests flood determinations and gathers required regulatory documentation for loans where flood insurance is required.
18. Maintains lists of exceptions and works to clear technical and financial exceptions.
19. Balances UCC, flood, appraisal and general ledger account balances and invoices.
20. Maintains tickler system for mortgage recording sand UCC filings.
21. Process legal filing sand sends for recording - mortgages, mortgage extensions and release deeds.
22. Provides Notary service to customers.
23. Maintains appraiser rotation, assignment list and approves appraisal invoices for payment.
24. Prepares commercial, consumer and real estate loan documents including TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosures (TRID); types forms, correspondence, etc.; performs routine arithmetic calculations.
25. Disburses loan proceeds; within authority, answers questions concerning loans and/or loan accounts; provides other customer services as needed.
26. Verify wiring instructions and prepare wires to fund loans and process loan draws.
27. Approves settlement statements and balances Closing Disclosures.
28. Performs loan transfers.
29. Prepares and files UCC’s, UCC Continuations and UCC Amendments.
30. Performs second reviews on Commercial and Consumer loan documentation for accuracy.
31. Orders construction inspections, completes and tracks construction draw requests.
32. Prepares minutes for meetings as requested.
33. Assists and prepares Loan Committee meetings.
34. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
