An established commercial insurance company is looking for a hard-working Commercial Lines Account Manager for their Brooklyn, NY branch. After nearly a decade of providing their clients with quality service and quality products, their goal remains the same, to ensure that their clients are insured properly and sufficiently. Responsibilities:

• The Account Manager will provide a high level of sales support to the Producer and customer service to clients
• The position requires a significant degree of independent judgment and discretion to meet those service levels
• The Account Manager will assist in the production of new and renewal accounts in keeping with Agency and individual Producer goals and provide field service in support of Producer activities
• The Account Manager is responsible for assisting clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts
• Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of your local office
• Responds to client request for policy changes, billing inquiries and verification of coverage
• Ensures that these items are given to client in a timely manner
• Maintains follow-up and suspense file on outstanding orders, correspondence, claims, renewal expirations and follows up on overdue and suspense items
• Checks new and renewal policies and endorsements for accuracy in coverage
• Determines reasons for request for cancellations and acts to retain accounts
• If unable, secures Lost Policy Release and follows through to policy cancellation
• Participates in continuing professional development as required by state licensing requirements and Agency guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1–3 years of Commercial Lines experience preferred, but not required — training will be provided for the right candidate
• Professional communication, organization and writing skills
• Experience in Quoting and Marketing New and Existing accounts is preferred.
• Proficient in completing applications, determining proper coverage and carrier placement is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Solid background in using Applied Epic (Preferred), Excel and Microsoft Word
• Property and Casualty License Preferred; not required but must be willing to obtain
