Wood is currently recruiting for a hands-on and energetic Commercial Lead role to join our team in our Melbourne or Brisbane or Perth office.

Reporting functionally to the VP of Commercial for APAC, this role will perform the full range of commercial activities from preparation and negotiation of commercial pricing models, commercial inputs to proposals, pre and post award contract reviews, contract administration and commercial close out activities..

The key objectives for this role are:

  • Build-up, preparation and negotiation of tender specific commercial pricing models, commercial inputs to proposals, pre and post award contract reviews, contract administration and commercial close out activities.
  • Managing the tender governance process for the Asia-Pac East region
  • Developing and steering their assigned team of commercial advisors with in-depth commercial and cross-functional expertise to support the assigned business.
  • Maximise commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre and post-contract)
  • Commercialisation of the Asia-Pac East region service offerings to support business growth and strategy.
  • Embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the Asia-Pac East region
  • Manages and provides team members with direction in commercial activities during the contract life cycle from input into tenders through contract delivery to contract commercial closeout
  • Implementation commercial strategy for the Asia-Pac East region and ensures alignment of objectives to the business unit strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies
  • Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues

  • Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration, commerce, quantity surveying, or similar discipline. 8 years’ experience in a similar leadership/management role
  • In addition to an undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience, the individual should have extensive and varied work experience which would allow extensive knowledge of and exposure to key contractual and commercial management concepts and principles
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of contractual structures and concepts, commercial processes and procedures
  • Experience in negotiation and claims dispute resolution both in written and face to face scenarios
