We’re hiring for Commercial Lead Africa & Middle East Markets

He or she will be responsible for leading Corteva commercial business, from strategic direction setting, commercial execution, team leadership and capacity builder, with full income statement accountability. Geography of responsibility includes Africa (excl South Africa) and Middle East markets. The ideal candidate is to offer general management experience, value strong customer- & industry relationships, track record of business result driven approach, sound financial acumen, is a cross functional collaborator and a champion of Corteva's core values.

Preferred Location: Kenya, Morocco or Egypt regional offices

Principal Accountabilites

• Strategic 5-year planning and execution, embedded by strong commercial execution
• Lead commercial organization, focusing on annual budget delivery, maximizing market share and profitability.
• Manage business governance, annual planning cycle, commercial policies, and key business indicators for relevant geographies
• Team leadership, development and building high performance culture aligned to Corteva values
• Hold strong internal and external customer relationships, along with industry and other stakeholders, supportive of agriculture development
• Oversee financial performance indicators, sales forecasting and adjusting strategies as needed to optimize revenue, control costs, and sustain long-term profitability.
• Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and local regulations, maintaining transparency and accountability in all financial operations.

Major Functions

• Build and execute the strategic direction, lead the annual business cycle and management of governance processes plus commercial policies
• Manage the full income statement & working capital for relevant commercial geography
• Foster strong customer & industry relationship to support business execution
• Cross functional collaboration with all internal functions, supportive of end-to-end commercial delivery and supportive of customer relationship
• Coaching and Mentorship of team, ensuring growth and development, along with instilling a culture aligned to Corteva’s values

Major Challenges

• Set strategic direction and growth plan to maximize market reach and profitability
• Sustain and grow a profitable business amidst competitive and evolving market dynamics.
• Income statement accountability plus management of working capital
• Manage both internal and external key relationships enabling business delivery and aligned to Corteva values
• Build and promote a strong, collaborative team culture.

Key Contacts

• Reports directly to the commercial unit leader Southern Europe-, Africa & Middle East
• Collaborates closely with members of the Commercial & Cross functional Leadership Teams

Qualifications

• Education: University Diploma or advanced degree, with experience in Ag business(preferred) and business administration
• Experience: 5–10 years in sales leadership, with a proven track record in team management, sales execution and strategic business development.
• Emerging market experience would be beneficial

Skills:

• Leadership with experience across diverse cultures, team building and performance enhancement.
• Strategic ability, general management and knowledge of Africa agricultural markets
• Solid financial acumen, business governance and commercial policies
• Understanding of regulatory framework and dynamics of agricultural crop protection products and distribution channels
• Proficiency in managing complex sales channels and distribution networks.
• Fluency in English, with additional Benefit of French or Arabic
