Commercial & Procurement Lead
Location: Perth CBD
Roster: 5/2 (Monday to Friday)
Commencement: ASAP

About the role:

UGL are seeking an experienced Commercial & Procurement Lead to join our team on an ongoing basis working on a major Oil & Gas project.

Point of hire is Perth, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

·Cost Control & Budgeting Manage and oversee the project budget, ensuring that all expenditures align with the projects WBS & financial objectives.

·Procurement Strategy Lead and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.

·Contract Negotiation Negotiate and administer contracts, ensuring favourable terms that align with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.

·Vendor Management Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.

·Risk Management Analyse and mitigate commercial risks associated with the contracts financial performance, procurement, subcontracting, and supplier performance.

·Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of contract and commercial professionals, fostering collaboration across departments.

·Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, and industry standards. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management.

About you:

·Proven experience in a contract / commercial lead role, ideally within the Oil & Gas construction sector as a main contractor performing SMP and/or E&I scope.

·Strong understanding of construction project management, project controls, procurement processes, and commercial contracts.

·Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.

·Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

·Familiarity with relevant software tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

·Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS) is a plus.
