We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new revenue growth for our local commercial landscape business, backed by the strength and resources of a national organization.

This is a consultative B2B sales role for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing a local territory, and partnering closely with operations to deliver high-quality service for commercial clients. The right person will be comfortable prospecting, networking, uncovering client needs, developing proposals, and helping transition new customers successfully from sale to service.

Ideal backgrounds may include commercial landscaping, facility services, HVAC, janitorial, restoration, fire protection, pest control, construction services, property services, or other service-based industries where long-term relationships, operational follow-through, and client satisfaction matter.

What You’ll Do

As the Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Build and grow the local market by identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing new commercial landscape service opportunities.
  • Develop a healthy sales pipeline through cold calling, email outreach, in-person prospecting, trade shows, referral development, and networking with property management and commercial real estate groups.
  • Use the CRM to document prospect activity, track opportunities, manage follow-up, and maintain visibility across all stages of the sales pipeline.
  • Conduct discovery with prospective clients to understand property needs, service expectations, budgets, decision timelines, and long-term priorities.
  • Collect property and service data, validate field measurements and take-offs, and partner with estimating and operations to support accurate proposal development.
  • Present proposals face to face, clearly communicating value, scope, service expectations, and the benefits of working with a professional commercial landscape partner.
  • Collaborate with field operations to ensure a smooth handoff from closed sale to service delivery, protecting both the client experience and operational execution.
  • Manage prospect and customer communication with urgency, professionalism, and follow-through.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a sales professional who brings:

  • 3–5+ years of B2B sales, business development, outside sales, or marketing experience, preferably in a service-based industry.
  • Experience selling to commercial clients, property managers, facility managers, business owners, or other multi-stakeholder decision-makers.
  • A track record of generating leads, building a sales pipeline, and increasing revenue through proactive prospecting and relationship development.
  • A consultative sales approach, with the ability to uncover client needs, communicate value, and navigate pricing or service objections.
  • An understanding of operational details, service delivery expectations, and the importance of partnering with field teams to create long-term client satisfaction.
  • Experience supporting sales and estimating processes, including job costing, proposals, scopes of work, or related service agreements.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • The drive to exceed goals while working independently and collaboratively with local leadership and operations teams.
  • A winning attitude and genuine interest in helping grow a respected local service business.
