• The Senior Service Technician reports to the Service Manager
• Located in Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC
• Field Based - Full Time
• Travel up to 25% required
• On call rotation nights and weekends

The Senior Service Technician is a highly skilled field professional responsible for advanced diagnostics, complex repairs and commissioning of commercial kitchen equipment. This role serves as a technical escalation point within the region and supports TriMark’s most critical and high-volume customer accounts.
The Senior Technician ensures maximum equipment uptime across full commercial kitchen systems, reinforces safety and compliance standards, and provides technical leadership and mentorship to other technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Diagnose and repair gas and electric cooking equipment including combi ovens, rack ovens, fryers, broilers, steamers, kettles, griddles, ranges, and multi-unit cooking lines or service commercial refrigeration systems including reach-ins, walk-ins, prep tables, undercounter units and ice machines.
• Conduct root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures
Technical Leadership & Escalation Support
• Serve as senior escalation resource for troubleshooting the equipment
• Mentor and coach junior technicians on advanced diagnostics and safety procedures
• Support onboarding and structured field training
• Provide service leadership with trend analysis and recurring issue insights
Preventative Maintenance & Operational Optimization
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs for full kitchen systems
• Identify efficiency improvements, equipment lifecycle concerns, and upgrade opportunities
• Partner with customers on proactive service planning to reduce downtime
Customer Partnership & Documentation
• Act as trusted advisor to multi-unit, healthcare, hospitality, and institutional accounts
• Clearly communicate repair findings, cost implications, and operational risks
• Maintain accurate and timely digital service documentation
• Uphold TriMark’s professional service standards
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations
• Maintain required refrigerant handling certifications
• Promote and model a culture of safety and accountability
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years of commercial kitchen equipment service experience
• Strong knowledge of gas systems, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration cycles
• EPA Universal Certification or Type II ( required)
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift 75+pounds and work in high-heat or refrigerated environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• CFESA Master Technician or equivalent certification
• Factory-authorized service training on major cooking or refrigeration brands
• Experience supporting high-volume or multi-location accounts
• Experience with remote monitoring or advanced control systems
• Experience in foodservice, hospitality, or institutional environments

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
