Job Description

This is the opportunity to play a crucial role in delivering data-driven market and commercial insights to inform strategic decisions and drive Novo Nordisk’s performance in the BAAF (Business Area Africa) markets and be the strategic partner to BAAF Leadership Team to provide commercial insights to drive performance as our new Commercial Insights and Analytics Manager, BAAF. This role is based in Istanbul, Türkiye.


Your new role

As The Commercial Insights and Analytics Manager, you will allow BAAF to capitalize on business opportunities and formulate strategies to realize its full potential. Your responsibilities will be vital for facilitating data-driven conversations and producing valuable insights for strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities will include to

  • Measure and report commercial performance and provide actionable recommendations based on root-cause analyses and scenario modelling and translate complex analyses into clear, concise recommendations and influence cross-functional teams (brand, medical, market access, sales) to implement initiatives.
  • Produce BAAF performance reports and lead cross-functional performance reviews to align stakeholders on priorities and actions, create and lead cross functional BAAF Performance KPI Matrix with close collaboration with Affiliates
  • Responsible for BAAF Affiliates in-market (sales & MS%) assumptions and submission during planning periods.
  • Conduct in market sales analyses and follow up with Affiliates to validate findings, support execution and track implementation of agreed actions, monitor and interpret market dynamics, competitor activity, payer and regulatory changes.
  • Identify and quantify potential risks and opportunities (Risk & Opps) and escalate with recommended mitigation or exploitation plans.
  • Integrate internal and external datasets to create 360° market views and maintain dashboards/KPIs for stakeholders.
  • Identify primary and secondary market research needs (surveys, KOL interviews, syndicated and real-world data) to capture external insights and unmet needs, lead cross functional team to get timely insight and implementation of mitigation plans.

Your new department

Business Area Africa (BAAF) is one of the fastest growing business area which covers whole African continent: 55 countries under 6 Affiliates: South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Middle Africa, Morocco and Tunisia. From our Business Area office in Istanbul, we set strategy, drive impactful initiatives in support of the strategy and provide functional support to the General Managers and functional colleagues across these affiliates. We are patient centric, purpose-driven and have a value-based culture, focusing on inclusion, engagement and people development.

Your skills & qualifications

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in business, management engineering, economics, life sciences, statistics or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3–7 years’ experience in commercial insights, market analytics, consulting or pharma/biotech analytics.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling and senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, familiarity with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Experience with syndicated and real world datasets (e.g., IQVIA, claims, EMR) and market research methods.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to translate insights into measurable actions.
