Job Description

ProTech Mechanical, a Crete United company, is looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Installer to join our Corpus Christi team.

In this role, you’ll install and replace commercial HVAC equipment for customers throughout South Texas. You’ll work alongside experienced field and operations teams, receive steady year-round work, and have opportunities to expand your skills in equipment start-up, commissioning, and service.

If you take pride in quality installations, enjoy solving problems in the field, and want to grow with an established commercial mechanical contractor, we’d like to meet you.

What You’ll Do

  • Install commercial rooftop units, split systems, packaged units, heat pumps, air handlers, condensers, exhaust fans, and ventilation equipment
  • Complete equipment replacements, change-outs, and retrofit installations
  • Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, controls, and related mechanical components
  • Perform minor ductwork modifications and assist with sheet-metal work
  • Read and follow blueprints, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment submittals
  • Start up and test newly installed equipment to confirm proper operation
  • Assist with equipment commissioning and job closeout
  • Support service technicians with basic troubleshooting and repairs when needed
  • Complete accurate daily reports and document materials used
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and field supervisors
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment
  • Follow OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Three or more years of commercial HVAC installation experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience installing commercial HVAC equipment and systems
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Basic understanding of the refrigeration cycle and HVAC controls
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
  • EPA Universal Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it

Basic service, troubleshooting, sheet-metal fabrication, and duct-modification experience are helpful but not required.

Equipment Experience

Experience with any of the following is valuable:

  • Commercial rooftop units
  • Split systems and heat pumps
  • VRF and VRV systems
  • Chilled-water equipment
  • Refrigeration piping
  • Variable-frequency drives
  • HVAC controls and thermostats
  • Equipment start-up and commissioning

You don’t need experience with every system listed. We encourage you to apply if you have a strong commercial installation background and want to continue building your skills.

What ProTech Offers

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Stable, year-round commercial work
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Company vehicle when applicable
  • Company-provided uniforms and safety equipment
  • Ongoing technical training and career development
