What you’ll do

As an HVAC Service Technician Apprentice, you’ll be trained to support and eventually master tasks such as:

• Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems for optimal efficiency
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting basic mechanical and electrical issues
• Installing, replacing, and calibrating HVAC components and controls
• Maintaining chilled/hot water systems and cleaning coils and blowers regularly
• Assisting with ductwork installation, layout planning, and system design
• Following safety procedures and complying with City, State, and EPA regulations

Required Qualifications:

As an HVAC Service Technician Apprentice you must have:

• A High School Diploma/GED
• The ability to push/pull/lift up to 50lbs, climb a ladder and work on rooftops
• The ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended period of times
• Must Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier
• The ability to join the union apprentice program, or currently be enrolled

Preferred Qualifications

Other experience and qualities you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

• EPA 608 Certificate
• Graduation from an HVAC program
• Knowledge of Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices common to the trade
• Basic understanding of building automation controls
