Job Description

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

Manage closing processes for complex multi-family mortgage transactions, including fundings, renewals, assumptions, takeout conversions, and construction advances. Ensure data integrity, funding accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Service as a key liaison to solicitors, insurance consultants, and other third-party service providers, resolving discrepancies and facilitating seamless transactions. Contribute to continuous process improvements and risk mitigation initiatives.

About the day-to-day:

  • Manage closing processes for complex multi-family mortgage transactions, ensuring accurate, timely funding and adherence to internal controls.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance reviews of loan data, prepare funding calculations, and system produced documentation to maintain precision and compliance.
  • Calculate, process, and authorize mortgage advances, disbursements, construction draws and submit postings, cheque requisitions and PAC setups.
  • Maintain organized digital loan files with standard naming conventions and ensure audit-readiness documentation.
  • Liaise with solicitors, insurance consultants, and other third-party service providers and internal parties and confirm legal, insurance, and security perfection.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting. treasury, servicing teams to facilitate transactions or resolve discrepancies.

About the qualifications:

  • 1+ year in financial industry, mortgage administration, commercial real estate, or high-volume transaction environments.
  • Bilingual in French (written and spoken) is a strong asset.
  • Experience with loan fundings, advances, disbursements, and construction draws; strong accuracy under deadlines.
  • Knowledge of mortgage documentation, loan closing processes, and security perfection; CMHC-insured multi-family experience is a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with external stakeholders and manage high-volume system-based loan administration.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and collaborative, with prioritization skills, and compliance awareness.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.

About the work environment

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $55,000 and $62,500 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
