Custer creates personalized spaces that elevate well-being, promote innovation, and transform the communities in which we live and work. Established in 1981, Custer has grown beyond West Michigan to become a premier Steelcase dealership and a full-service interior solutions partner serving corporate, education, and healthcare clients. Our team delivers environments that empower people to do their best work - integrating workplace strategy, design, furniture, flooring, and technology to support a better way of working.
At Custer, we're creating exceptional spaces that help organizations thrive, and our commercial flooring team is an important part of that mission. As our flooring business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Commercial Flooring Project Manager who is excited to make a meaningful impact. This is a unique opportunity to join an established industry leader while helping shape and expand a growing division.
In this role, you'll work on complex commercial flooring projects from award through completion while collaborating with a talented team of sales professionals, installers, vendors, and project partners. Your expertise will help deliver outstanding customer experiences, drive operational excellence, and strengthen Custer's reputation for quality and service.
This role partners with the sales team during the pre-order phase to ensure a seamless transition into project execution and oversees all post-order activities, including procurement, scheduling, budgeting, installation coordination, customer communication, and project closeout. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, vendors, installers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in the commercial flooring industry, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
