Job Description

As a Commercial Executive, you will lead strategic commercial engagements across a diverse customer portfolio, partnering with internal stakeholders, customers, and partners to accelerate business growth and deliver customer value. You will drive complex commercial negotiations, structure innovative deals, and align Microsoft solutions to customer needs while ensuring compliance, execution excellence, and long-term success.

You will leverage industry expertise, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills to influence decision-making, maximize business opportunities, and contribute to Microsoft's continued growth in cloud, AI, and digital transformation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and business outcomes through strategic commercial engagement, ensuring compliance throughout the sales process.
  • Lead complex deal cycles by developing commercial strategies, structuring pricing scenarios, negotiating contractual terms, and creating effective close plans.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, Account Teams, and Specialist Teams to align negotiation strategies, optimize commercial investments, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Identify and maximize growth opportunities through upsell, cross-sell, renewal, and transformational engagements, including new solution areas such as AI and Copilot.
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders, understanding business priorities and translating requirements into impactful commercial proposals.
  • Apply industry knowledge, market insights, and Microsoft product strategy to shape commercial solutions and influence customer decision-making.
  • Ensure successful deal execution and long-term value realization by aligning deployment strategies, customer objectives, budgets, and support resources.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Law, Marketing, Finance, Communication, Education (or equivalent) or related field AND several years sales and negotiation experience or related work or internship experience
    • OR several years sales and negotiation experience
    • OR several years procurement experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in sales and negotiation, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build strategic relationships, and achieve business outcomes.
  • Business fluency in both German and English.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading complex commercial negotiations involving enterprise customers and multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience developing pricing strategies, commercial constructs, and contractual solutions that balance customer value and business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across sales, finance, legal, and solution organizations.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, AI solutions, software licensing, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Business acumen with the ability to identify growth opportunities and develop customer-centric commercial strategies.
  • Experience building executive-level customer and partner relationships and negotiating complex agreements.

In line with our Flexible Work approach, for roles at Microsoft Germany, we recommend spending at least two days per week in the office or at the customer site.

Commercial Sales IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 87,600.00 - € 130,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
