The Opportunity

We're looking for a Commercial Executive to join our Enterprise Commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you'll be accountable for safeguarding margin, managing commercial and contractual risk, and enabling confident delivery across our most important projects and client portfolios.

This is a senior, outcome-focused role. You'll operate as a trusted adviser to Project Directors, Business Group leaders and clients - with the authority to challenge decisions and intervene where outcomes are at risk.

What you'll be accountable for

• Commercial performance and risk ownership - Owning commercial, contractual and margin risk across your assigned projects, portfolios or clients. Ensuring risks are identified early, escalated decisively and managed with sound judgement that balances commercial protection with client and delivery outcomes.

• Shaping bids that set projects up for success - Ensuring bids and pursuits are commercially realistic, with clear scope, appropriate risk allocation and contracts that reflect how projects will actually be delivered - not how they are theoretically priced.

• Contract and claims discipline through delivery - Establishing fit-for-purpose contract management frameworks on complex projects. Leading claims, variations and dispute avoidance strategies that protect WSP's commercial position.

• Protecting margin and intervening early - Monitoring commercial performance proactively and acting on early warning indicators to address margin erosion, scope drift or delivery challenges before they escalate.

• Enabling confident decision-making - Providing commercially grounded advice that supports Project Directors and business leaders to make informed, confident decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

• Lifting commercial capability - Coaching, mentoring and building commercial acumen across project teams, contributing to a stronger commercial culture across the organisation.

What you'll bring

You're a pragmatic and commercially astute leader who is driven by outcomes. You bring:

• Significant experience in commercial, contracts or project management roles within complex project environments

• Demonstrated accountability for commercial outcomes across both front-end bid phases and post-award delivery

• Strong expertise in claims, variations and dispute management or avoidance

• A track record of protecting and improving margin performance

• The confidence to challenge constructively and intervene decisively at senior levels

• Clear, concise communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

• A collaborative, solutions-focused approach aligned to WSP's values
